A healthy attic vents from the bottom up: cool outdoor air enters at the soffits, rises as it warms, and exits at the ridge. Why does an attic need ventilation at all?
A balanced flow of air in through the soffits and out at the ridge keeps the attic close to the outdoor temperature.
